About

The database of New Zealand mental health and addiction research provides information about recent and ongoing research projects. The database is an avenue for researchers to promote their work and a central place for people working in the sector to find out who is undertaking research, and what recent research is available.

New Zealand research which is published, unpublished or currently in progress that relates to mental health and addiction can be submitted to the database, including research that focuses on:

  • assessment and diagnosis
  • biological research
  • epidemiology and risk factors
  • clinical treatment
  • practice research
  • workforce training and development
  • service systems research
  • prevention and promotion.

We are also interested in grey literature produced by academics, policy makers, service providers, service users and health professionals which may not be commercially published, widely distributed or easily found through traditional channels. Grey literature could include theses or dissertations, conference papers, research and evaluation reports, and occasional papers.

The database can be browsed or searched using keywords or advanced filter options. The research projects may include links to websites, presentations, articles and other relevant documents.

Recent and current mental health and addiction research may either be submitted online or by contacting us on keadmin "at" tepou.co.nz. The instructions explain how to make a submission and what information is required.

Browse

You may browse the database for completed or ongoing projects, recently submitted research, or projects by alphabetical order.

Search

You may search all information on the knowledge exchange or specifically select the database of New Zealand mental health research from the dropdown box. The filters enable you to search the database or stories of change entries from a list of selected keywords. Alternatively you can enter a keyword and click 'search'.

The search results will show you the keywords you selected. You may sort these by most recent date of submission or by alphabetical order.

If your search returns no results try expanding your search criteria by entering fewer keywords or filters.

Submit

The online submission process consists of four steps. The final step will allow you to review the details you have entered before making your submission.

To prepare your submission check out the step by step instructions so you will be able to answer all questions.

You can complete a submission by either selecting the submit link in the left hand menu bar within the Knowledge Exchange or by selecting ‘submit' from the link at the top of the page within the database section.
