Mental Health Outcomes Information Collection Protocol

<< Previous | Index | Next >>

What's new in Version 1.2

Collection redundancy through PRIMHD implementation

As outcomes data will be reported to PRIMHD in an integrated way with mental health activity data, where DHB systems allow it, several outcomes-related data elements may no longer be required to be collected separately from other mental health data collections. These elements will be linked to outcomes data within PRIMHD. They include:

  • principal and additional diagnosis
  • mental health legal status indicator
  • NGO involvement
  • cultural support services.

Information Collection Protocol review recommendations

Inclusion of recommendations from the Information Collection Protocol review group held in February 2008. These are either detailed within the body of the document, or in the frequently asked questions section, where appropriate. These changes relate to the following main topics.

  • Collection requirements at the time of inpatient discharge to community setting.
  • Clarification of flexibility around the two review collection reasons.
  • Clarification on the collection requirements for ‘assessment only' cases.
  • Addition/clarification of definitions for some reasons for collection.
  • Clarification of definitions for admission date, collection occasion date and completion date.
