Nelson 4U Forum, 9 March 2007

Keep up the great work as you are all doing a remarkable task and it is much appreciated." Forum visitor

Greetings from sunny Nelson - today was a quiet day in comparison to the rest of the South Island forums. But there was still worthwhile feedback to be had - thanks to those who came.

Feedback:

NGOs
There is a need for career pathways for support workers to support better pay structures and a need to share training opportunities with DHBs and other sectors.

Training
Increased skill levels are needed in working with families, children and eating disorders, including obesity. There is a need to improve cross-agency collaborative case management. DBT needs ongoing support and development. A need for broader treatment modalities and approaches. Some highlighted the loss of videoconferencing facilities in the Takaka region.

General
Some positive feedback about the region's funders and planners being supportive.
