I truly love working in mental health. As chief executive of Te Pou, I have been given the opportunity to live my dream of having a positive impact on mental health and addiction services. With experience gained through 20 years of working in leadership roles and, more recently, within the Ministry of Health, I have found a role that is the perfect fit.
My values underpin my leadership style. Integrity, hard work, respect, valuing others, honesty, listening and compassion strengthen my desire to achieve effective, tangible, real outcomes in the work we do at Te Pou; work that is designed to add value to the efforts of and improve services for service users and tangata whaiora, families and whanau, DHBs and NGOs, and all our sector partners.
I came to Te Pou to make this happen and, as the saying goes - the proof is in the pudding - so feel free to contact me or any of the team to give us your feedback, and help us keep our purpose alive.

The majority of my working life, 21 years, has been spent with Air New Zealand in a variety of roles, from international and domestic check-in and travel centres to reservations and beyond! During the first 10 years there, I was lucky enough to be able to travel extensively.
After that, I worked for four years at a pharmaceutical company - a different aspect to health from the role I am in now.
The health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders is important to me.

'Gidday' as us Aussies would say it! I grew up in Sydney, Australia, and moved to New Zealand for family commitments. I love it here but miss the hot weather and beaches.
This is my first time working in the mental health sector. When I had my interview I felt the warmth and friendliness, and knew that taking a step into Te Pou's world would be a great opportunity for me!
I was previously working for a company that deals with audio enhancement and noise rejection technology.
I love to play sports, paint, sew and socialise!

I have lived and worked in towns and cities right across this great country, from Invercargill to Auckland and many places in between. I started my working career as a printer but moved into administration, business development and analysis roles. I've tried my hand at DHB planning and funding, HR, local government and running my own business, just to name a few!
What a great opportunity working at Te Pou offers. To be part of making a positive difference for the lives of people who experience mental health problems is a privilege and to work alongside an awesome bunch of people is great!
I started working at Te Pou in July 2006, developing a range of projects. I am delighted to be assisting with the startup of Disability Workforce Development and am enjoying bringing Te Pou's strong stakeholder focus to service delivery within the disability sector.
